End of School

So to begin trying to catch up on the blog backlog, I will start with the end of school.  School’s been out for 2 weeks, but better late than never, eh?

Katie got to compete with some of her classmates in “Are You Smarter Than a 3rd Grader” at our town’s history museum.  They were competing against adults in the audience and the questions were all based on our town’s history.  They mopped the floor with us.

These are the teacher thank-you gifts that I made for the girls to give to their teachers, teachers’ aides & principal.

Carmel apple cupcakes in a jar with homemade icing.  I got the idea from here.  The tutorial was super easy to follow.  I was really happy about the way they turned out and one of the teachers texted me the other day to tell me that they were delicious.

Katie earned an award for citizenship and one for being the top girl AR reader in her class.

She was also given the grumpy librarian award by her teacher.  She was the class librarian all year and let’s just say that she took her job very seriously.  I can totally see her as a grumpy librarian when she grows up.  🙂

And finally, I wanted to post pictures from the first day of school and the last day of school.  They’ve really grown.

This was a great school year for both girls.  As always, I am excited to spend the summer with them and have a little break from the school routine.
