Last night we had our first annual Holiday Extravaganza! (pronounced Extravaganzaaaaaaaah!)
My sister, her kids and her boyfriend joined us and we set up a craft table for the kids to make Christmas ornaments/decorations.
There was only one little mishap and of course it involved Nanner and a bottle of green glitter.
And as you can see from the picture below, the kids thought it would be fun to glue red pom poms onto the end of their noses. However, I don’t know how much fun it was when it was time to remove them. 🙂
We had delicious food. Cheeseball & crackers, Buffalo Chicken Dip (recipe at the end) and Mexican cheese dip, cookies, brownies and hot cocoa. Yummers.
We had a really great time. Once the kiddies were done decorating we broke out the games. We kicked the kids off the dining room table so we could play there and sentenced them to games on the floor.
It was really fun and I hope it’s an event that we’ll continue for years to come.
Now for the recipe. This is a wonderful appetizer. I get lots of compliments every time I make it and it’s super easy to prepare.
Buffalo Chicken Dip
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 bottle ranch dressing
2 cups shredded cheese of your choice
4-5 strips frozen Tyson buffalo chicken, thawed and cut into bite-sized pcs.
Spread cream cheese in bottom of 9 x 13 dish.
Pour half bottle of ranch dressing on top and spread evenly.
Add 1/2 of shredded cheese evenly on top of dressing.
Spread all of buffalo chicken bites on top.
Add another layer of dressing and then cheese.
Bake at 350 until bubbly.
Serve with tortilla chips. (I always use Scoops because they are better at scooping up the chicken pcs.)
And finally, I’m getting started on my homemade Christmas gifts. I’m so excited about this year’s projects. I’m not making as many as last year, but I love the ones that I am doing and can’t wait to show you. Unfortunately I can’t show you til after the fact because I don’t want to spill the beans to anyone.
