A Good Old-Fashioned Club House

Katie brought a friend home from school on Monday.

They had 2 hours to kill, so what was on the agenda?

Painting their nails and making a clubhouse.

Look at Hannah, she just looks like a little whipper-snapper, doesn’t she?

This brings back lots of good memories.  When I was little, my aunt Sandy used to babysit us a lot.  Making a clubhouse was always a favorite thing to do with her.  We also had a great game called Don’t Touch The Floor.  We’d pick up random things from around the house (pillows, books, blankets, stuffed animals) and throw them on the floor.  You then had to walk around the room without touching the floor.  You could climb on the furniture and you could step on the stuff thrown on the floor, but if you touched the floor, you were dead and out of the game.  I think I need to teach my girls this game!

You are helping your girls create wonderful memories, too. Great Mommy! (What is Betcha Can Betcha Can’t?)

Betcha Can Betcha Can’t was a game that my sister & I invented. We would lay at opposite ends of the couch and put our feet together, then on “Go”, we would start pushing with our feet as hard as we could yelling “Betcha Can, Betcha Can’t!” and the goal was to try to get your feet and legs straightened all the way out, causing the other one to essentially have her knees knocked up her nose. Ha! It was so fun!
