The Garden Is Planted

Last weekend my poor daddy came over to see what Brian was up to.  I’m pretty sure he’ll never do that again.

Brian had him hauling mowers, shoveling compost and helping with just about everything in between!

The girls and I went to some garage sales with my mom while they were busy slaving away at our house.

We got back just as they were starting to shovel the compost into my garden box.

Love it! Now will you tell us what you planted? I know you told me but I forget and I like to see it in writing.

Well, let’s see. Several tomato plants, I even have some that I’m going to put in buckets since I ran out of room. Bell peppers, habanero peppers, cucumber (1 plant), oregano, basil, parsley, and I had to give my neighbor my broccoli plants because there was no room. I also have some lavender planted in a pot on my porch. Next year I’d like to have another box,the same size that is strictly for tomatoes. I also want to plant some strawberries and blackberries…but maybe not this year. I think that’s all of it.

Fun! I would love to have a garden too. I just don’t know if I would take good enough care of it. I will see how I do with my flowers this summer. 😉

It’s beautiful! I’m doing the same as you are… one box this year, one box next year (and so on and so on…) but don’t tell Steve of my plans. He’s not too thrilled that he has another obstacle to mow around. Someday I want to be like these people… http://urbanhomestead.org/journal/
