Surviving The Slumber Party

Katie opted for a slumber party this year in lieu of the usual birthday party consisting of family and friends cramming into our small living room.  So, I let her invite some of her friends from her class over.

We had pizza and cupcakes, played a few games, then the girls went upstairs for a while to play Littlest Pet Shop while I tried to figure out just when it was that the tornado actually tore through the living room.  Then they came flying down the stairs screaming and giggling that they were ready for popcorn and a movie.

I think the slumber party was a huge success.  We did have a couple of little ones that woke up in the middle of the night crying for their mamas, so I had to make 2 late night phone calls, but we were able to get them calmed and fortunately no one had to come over in the middle of the night to retrieve their child.

I believe it was somewhere around 3 am when they finally fell asleep.  I am so so so SO tired.  But I’m glad Katie enjoyed herself.

Because we are never doing that again.  😉

I remember the days of slumber parties. I will be reliving them soon as well. It won’t be long before Emma will be wanting to host her own. I am glad she had a great time!

You are a brave, brave soul. But slumber parties were the best. I always loved them.
