I have a MacArthur Daily Bible that says that you can “Read the bible in one year”. It was a gift from Ju. Well, it’s been a little over 2 years now and I’m almost half way there. It’s not that I don’t enjoy reading it, because I do. Well, except for Numbers. Sweet mercy, I thought I was never gonna get through Numbers!
Anyway, I really do like to read it. The problem with me is that I’ve never been one who is good at quoting verses or remembering significant ones. Well, John 3:16, of course, but we all know that one.
However, I really like it when I’m feeling down and I’m with someone who can just spout off a verse to me and tell me to read it. And then I do and immediately I feel comforted. I’d like to be that person who can just hand out the wisdom, but I’m not.
I honestly can’t remember who it was that directed me to this website, but it is great. You can just click on a topic and all the bible verses related to that topic will come up. This is great for someone like me.
It’s called God’s Yellow Pages and you can check it out here.
And here is the verse that is meaning something to me right now:
Ephisians 5:15 – 16
“Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”
And I didn’t actually find that verse on the website, but I read it somewhere else this morning and it has stuck with me and it reminded me about God’s Yellow Pages.
