Taming Willie

It’s been a while since I’ve said anything about Willie Nelson. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you already know about this, this, this, and this.

We’ve tried obedience lessons and pretty much every tip from every person we know, including the one where I make this terrible noise with my throat that sounds as if I am regurgitating, to try and make this dog behave and nothing has worked.

However, there has been some noticeable improvement lately. First, he still jumps on whomever it is that has the unfortunate circumstance of coming to visit us, but not as bad and will usually stop after a minute or two. Before, he would literally jump all over them with this insane look in his eye until either the person succumbed to his madness or we put him in his kennel.

Also, as long as I make sure that there is no one outside in the immediate vicinity of our house, I can take him out to do his business without a leash. He will hop along, and I do mean hop, beside me and then dart off and do what he needs to do, then follow me back in the house. But, there can be no living souls in the area or he’s off to investigate/jump all over them.

And the last couple of nights, I have actually just opened the door and let him out and then closed the door just enough so that it doesn’t latch and he has just came back and pushed it open when he was finished pottying.

So, I just wanted to give you an update since I’ve not talked about him for a while. It’s starting to feel like maybe there is hope for him after all.

Of course, he is nowhere near as sophisticated and well-behaved as Buster. Buster has complete understanding of the english language and refrains from the distasteful sort of behavior that Willie displays. He does have a wild streak every now and again. Just give him a pile of poop to roll in or a Polly Pocket bicycle helmet to sport and he’s all over it!

Willie has one of those faces. You know, you can’t help but love him. And forgive him for anything!
Maybe, Buster is teaching him slowly.
Love the Polly Pocket helmet. A dog can never be too careful, he might just run into a parked car. He needs protection! tee hee

I have been wondering about ol’ Willie. Maybe there is still hope for T-Bone, although Matt is working on installing an underground electric wire dog fence so T-Bone doesn’t get ran over (new neighbors moved in).

Poor Willie is probably blind now with all those flashes from your camera.

I wonder why my photo is showing up all of a sudden. Aren’t I cute? HA!
